The Azuero Peninsula
The Azuero Peninsula is composed of three provinces: Herrera, Los Santos, and the narrow province of Veraguas. A land of traditions and folklore, various cultures have come together to give rise to one of the country’s most distinctive places. Among its distinctive elements are: the traditional and dazzling pollera, pre-Columbian pottery and ancient churches heavily influenced by Spanish colonial architecture. The most important centers of Azuero are: Chitre, Las Tablas and Pedasi.
