From the 18th to the 23th January 2012. The Saint Sebastian’s Fair in Ocu.

“Ocu”, is an Indian Term, it is also the name of a district in the Province of Herrera, and the capital of the district is also known by the same name “Ocu”. Ocu is the most authentic district of Herrera, they are very proud of the “tradiciones de los manitos”, It is also home to the Saint Sebastian’s Fair, a name which is explained as the main saint of the community.
The fair is a valuable opportunity to know more about the productivity of the region of Ocu. Agricultural aspects, livestock,  commercial and folklore are the dominant feature there. During the event, the visitors can choose from a wide range of offerings: souvenirs, costumes (which include pants, shirt and hat made in Ocu) as well as dishes of local cuisine (rice with chicken, fried meat, roast pork, empanadas, donuts, etc.) In addition, the fair has a beautiful artificial lake and is of significance at the event. In the evening the fair has a large selection of dance and traditional performances with a must see accordion presentation.
